Melt butter and cook jalapeno. melt butter in a saucepan, add jalapeno and then garlic. remove from pan. boil milk and water boil the liquid, than turn down heat. add grits cook grits until water is absorbed. add the rest of the ingredients and stir until cheese melts. step 2. step 3. step 4. Mix in eggs, garlic, cayenne pepper and mix. mix in chopped jalapeno. pour grits into a greased 8x8 casserole dish. sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over top of grits. bake 35 to 40 minutes. remove baked grits from oven and allow to rest 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
